KEEP THAT CLOSET HOT!
In celebration of the SistersThree opening we've decided to help with HOW TO KEEP YOUR CLOSET HOT!
If you are anything like me, you keep things in your closet way too long. Maybe you'll lose or gain some weight and it will fit again, or it will come back into style... but the bottom line is, it's not always worth hanging on to - or it's not worth the hanging space!
Here are the number 5 rules we live by;
#5 - Make sure you have the basics. We could go over some long list of what that is, but we all know them! To name a few; a simple cardigan is a major necessity - black if you stray from colour, white blouse, LBD*, your favorite jeans, simple flats, good pair of boots. Then who cares for a suit - just get a classy blazer for all occasions! Ooh.. and one very nice leather belt.

#4 - When cleaning out your jewellery box, keep the simple stuff. You don't need to much jewellery with too many frills, it's easy to dress something up with a scarf or hair piece, but you will always need your classic jewellery; bangles, small pearl earrings, a simple charm necklace. You can't beat'em.
#3 - Only dress for the season. If you are in a place where seasons occur - put away your inappropriate seasonal duds. I wear summer dresses from May to October, but the rest of the year, they must be stored and preserved. They are too nice to waste and I need the space! It's the same thing we do with our winter coats and boots. Make sure to tuck away those turtle necks and tube socks when the time isn't right for them.
#2 - My sisters are guilty of this. I won't say I haven't done it, but my guess is we're not the only ones. Stop buying footwear to big or small. It is a waste of your money and no, you won't be able to eat a few extra meals to fit into that size 9 1/5. It just won't happen folks!
#1 - The greatest lesson I ever learned when it comes to canning clutter is this simple rule. Go through your closet and change all of your hangers around, a little less comfortable to hang. In 365 days - or whenever you need a major overhaul, go through your closet. If anything is still turned in the wrong direction, you will KNOW it is time to say goodbye. If you can't wear it in that period of time, it is not worth the space.
